Dandelion Seed Heads

I know most gardeners hate this 'weed'. I let mine grow, they are so cheerful and so beautiful when the flower head becomes a seed head, each seed born on the wind like little parachutes.

Another colour.

A beautiful deep colour in contrast to the paler ones.

Wild Aquilegia

I did have at least two cultivated varieties but over the years they have seeded with my wild ones.

Aquilegia (columbine) is a genus of about 60-70 species of herbaceous perennial plants that are found in meadows, woodlands, and at higher altitudes throughout the Northern Hemisphere. They are known for their distinctive flowers, generally bell-shaped, with each petal modified into an elongated nectar spur. Its fruit takes the form of a follicle.
Several species are grown in gardens, including Aquilegia vulgaris (European Columbine), a traditional garden flower in many parts of the world[1]. Numerous hybrids have also been developed as well. They are easy to propagate from seed.
They are used as food plants by some Lepidoptera species including Cabbage Moth, Dot Moth, The Engrailed and Mouse Moth.

This cheeky squirrel froze in this position as I moved closer with the camera. I may have been able to get closer but decided not to try it.

A Silver Birch

I loved this shot but it was spoilt by branches from a much bigger tree dropping down. So I had fun editing them out.

Willow is my daughters cat. A real witches cat if ever I saw one, with the most beautiful turqouise eyes. She is so soft and unbelievably friendly.

I am watching you!

Madam has her favourite places to take it easy. They change like you would not believe until the heating goes off and she begins to cool down, then she makes a beeline for the bed.

Pencil Drawings

Being a Hairdressing apprentice in the late 60's required a surprising number of exams to be passed including Art, always something I enjoyed. The hair was the important part. These days I can add to my tatty drawings with Psp.

Kenilworth Castle with a Twist

I can rarely resist manipulating my photos just to give them an entirely different look. As a child we spent many holidays with relatives in Kenilworth less than 10 minutes walk from this wonderful castle and the beautiful Abbey Fields.
